Grow Room Heat Control | Hydroponics Halifax. Grow Room Heat Control
It's that time of the year again when heat build-up in the grow room can cause major problems.
If you keep your grow room going through the summer months here are a few ways to ensure your indoor garden does not suffer from too much heat build-up.
Using "Cool Tubes" with in-line fans for the air inlet and another for the air outlet will help a lot by drawing most of the heat away from the lamps.
Removing heat from the growing space by having an inlet fan as close to the floor as possible to pull fresh clean air into the room and an outlet fan near the ceiling to suck out hot stale air will greatly reduce temperatures.
Oscillating fans within the grow room will help to continually move air around the garden which will help with transpiration and give your plants a better environment in which to cool themselves.
If your lighting ballast is within the grow room then move it outside of the room because ballast can generate a lot of heat.
Try to keep the humidity within the room down to a reasonable level. The lower the humidity the better able your plants are to transpire and therefore keep themselves cool.
One way to keep the heat and the humidity down, if you can afford the cost, is to install an air conditioner. A closed loop air conditioner is the best choice as no actual installation is required.
