Pipe Flow- Transition from Turbulent to Laminar Flow. Transition from turbulent to laminar flow for a pipe with a rounded entrance
This was recorded as part of a laboratory experiment and posted to share with my lab partners for later reference.
The pipe is a long round pipe with a rounded entrance at the bottom of the tank. The tank was filled and then allowed to drain through the pipe- there is no valve installed. This means the tank head is decreasing over time, and the flow rate is decreasing as well.
It switches back and forth between laminar and turbulent flow because the flow rate is not perfectly stable, but you can see that over time the flow does fully transition from turbulent to laminar flow.
