TRG - T-shirt Cannon - T-shirt Gun - Part 1. Hey guys,
Here is our first design of the 'TRG T-shirt Cannon'. It incorporates a 1 inch PVC pressure chamber with 9 inches of length. The way I calculate the overall chamber size is by diameter and length. For each inch of the chamber there is 1 inch of diameter. So overall, there is 9 inches worth of diameter in total within the chamber. We pressurize the chamber to about 160 PSI and max our distance out at about 40 feet. The highest we've tested within this design was about 250 PSI and it was functional. At about 300 PSI or more the rear cap would blow off of the back.
Part two will be coming soon. I just have to edit the files but it incorporates many improvements and fires over 100 feet easily. It also has two pressure relief valves in case too much pressure is input from the Co2 tank. These relief valves ensure that only 120 PSI will ever make it into the 'TRG T-Shirt Cannon'. All excess pressure is released.
The total cost for all of the parts was about 80$ and they were purchased from Princess Auto and Home Depot.
We have not done any research on the construction of the cannon and it was completely trial and error as we went along. The design for this was created by the 'TRG Crew' as well as the physical representations.
Please credit us if you decide to re-create this project! This helps us out!
If you do decide to build this at home I highly suggest you do it with gloves and safety goggles as explosions can happen if the chamber is over pressurized. We have witnessed it twice...
