Successful Cloning of Stevia Branch in Hydroponic Tube -- Experiment. This experiment shows a way to maximize the production of stevia from this tube system.
In videos I see of foreign production in tropical nations, the farmers grow mass rows of individual stevia plants. Thousands in dense rows.
However, here in southern California, stevia is very awkward to germinate and one good plant or a few good plants must be cloned to produce maximum production from a tube system.
This experiment will lead to perhaps three or four good plants becoming a solid hedge of upgrowth from the clay pebbles.
A problem then arises with the masses of roots jamming the flow of nutrient-bearing water. Stevia always jams compact systems.
I am now going to 8 inch tubes with more elaborate drainage the length of the tube.
